This position directs all phases of state and local government GIS projects, from proposal preparation through client management to project billing. These duties include, but are not limited to: conducting community assessments, educating communities on GIS, building community consensus, creating comprehensive implementation plans, managing project expectations, designing and managing data conversion tasks. Individual must have the ability to build and maintain GIS databases and map documents using a combination of the following: AutoCAD Map, ArcGIS, ArcInfo, ArcView, and Azteca Cityworks. Individual should have a conceptual understanding of ArcSDE, relational databases, and SQL statements. Individual must have excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to assist people with learning GIS technology. This individual must be able to build and maintain trusting relationships with Schneider’s clients and provide support to them. Individual must also work with Schneider’s strategic business partners. Further, this individual must be able to coordinate internally with other Geospatial technology groups, as well as, the GIS sales, implementation services, development and production staff. This position requires a high degree of self-motivation and dedication to applying new GIS technology into our client sites. The successful candidate will be multi-tasking, very resourceful, and possess a very high work ethic. Five years of work experience as a GIS Project Manager. Three years of demonstrated GIS Project Management experience with or in Local Government within the United States. Experience using ESRI, Azteca Cityworks or AutoDesk products. BA or BS in Geography, Land Surveying, Geomatics, GIS, Public Affairs, or related field A MA or MS in Geography, Land Surveying, Geomatics, Business Administration, Public Affairs, or related field is not required but would be beneficial.
