The Modeling Department is currently seeking an Energy Modeler to conduct modeling studies, validate wind maps, estimate wind project output, select appropriate turbine models, design turbine layouts, define project boundaries and perform other tasks in support of AWS Truewind’s consulting services. Experience using ESRI ArcGIS software, applying spatial analysis tools, and working in the raster environment is required. Computer programming skills (specifically Fortran) and knowledge of AutoCad and Idrisi is desirable. The successful candidate will deal effectively with colleagues, meet deadlines, perform critical analyses of sensitive data, assess and validate model results, work on several projects simultaneously and communicate effectively. In addition, the candidate must be detail-oriented and possess good organization and time management skills. Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in geography, computer programming, environmental studies or related field required. Relevant experience in the wind industry helpful. Location: This position will be located in Albany, New York. Minimal travel may be required. Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience. This full-time position includes full company benefits.
