GIS Analyst II-IV Honolulu, Hawaii We are actively seeking a mid-level GIS Analyst for our Honolulu, Hawaii office. This is a full-time hourly position. Pay is based on individual qualifications and experience. Primary Responsibilities • Help build and maintain GIS and cartographic capabilities • Create, maintain, and QA/QC geospatial data sets using ArcGIS 9.1x • Conduct spatial and network analyses of geographic data sets • Develop FGDC-compliant metadata to document geographic data sets • Develop personal geodatabases compliant with SDSFIE layering standards • Integrate CAD and GPS data with ArcGIS • Correct geographical errors in various feature classes • Heads up digitizing, as needed • Enforce topological relationships and perform data cleanup • Populate required attributes from various sources • Create sophisticated final map products using ArcGIS • Deliver data sets, metadata, and cartographic productions to clients • Participate in the corporate GIS practice group Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree with major course work in geography, planning, ecology or related field with an emphasis in GIS (or GIS certificate). Master’s degree a plus. • At least 3 years professional work beyond university • Demonstrated expertise using ESRI ArcGIS software and extensions • Demonstrated knowledge of cartography and computer mapping including design principles and understanding of map creation procedures. • Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD and integrating DWG data into ArcGIS • Demonstrated knowledge of GPS technology, field application, and GIS data integration • Demonstrated successful experience with establishing and delivering upon client expectations • Demonstrated ability to integrate disparate data sets into GIS • Demonstrated ability to apply spatial and network analyses with ArcGIS • Understanding of SDSFIE layering standards, requirements, and data compliance • Ability to interpret technical planning maps including AutoCAD and MicroStation drawings Prior knowledge and experience with ArcIMS, web applications, and/or application development is a plus. Applicant should be a demonstrated self-starter with professional demeanor and attitude, and good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required.
