GIS Mapping Technician I Fort Worth, Texas RESPONSIBILITIES On a national project performed continuously, use a geographic information system (GIS) to produce map products using high resolution graphics workstations for trace digitizing and/or construction digitizing. Edit graphics files to meet specifications and use custom menus and software to interactively manipulate files for data extraction. This is an entry level job where you can be promoted to three higher levels as your proficiency in learning and performing the mapping processes increases to meet set standards of performance. DUTIES INCLUDE - Register aerial images to other images for subsequent processing. - Make interpretations and determinations on mapping data using defined protocols and systems. - Perform photo interpretations to monitor changes and assess conditions. - Determine scales and make measurements from aerial photography using provided GIS tools. JOB REQUIREMENTS - Associates degree in a related GIS field with a four-year degree preferred; one or two years experience may be substituted for some education requirements. - Some specialized training (for example, ESRI training) is a plus - Knowledge of maps and map layout/design and an understanding of GIS application methods. - Must be authorized to work in the USA COMPENSATION - $14.85 and up per hour depending on your experience, capabilities and proficiencies that you can demonstrate. - Benefit package includes insurance, personal time off, paid regular holidays and 401(k) COMMENTS To apply, email your resume with “GIS Tech Fort Worth” in the subject line to jobsfw@gmail.com
