GIS professional needed to maintain and develop award-winning web-based application the Delaware DataMIL (datamil.delaware.gov) and Delaware Geological Survey IMS. This position requires a bachelor's degree, Computer Information Science preferred, Earth Science related acceptable and Master’s degree preferred, and 4 years of progressively responsible job-related experience in developing and maintaining Internet GIS or complex database-centered web applications required. Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, ArcObjects, ArcGIS, XML, CSS, ASP and ASP.Net, Visual Basic, Java, JavaScript and Open GIS Consortium (OGC) Standards required. Working knowledge of Oracle and ArcSDE is strongly preferred. Knowledge in the use of ArcGIS, GML, WMS, and geographic data preferred. The applicant must also be proficient in software installation and maintenance, network configuration, and troubleshooting system problems. Ability to interact effectively and responsibly with other members of the DGS staff, DGS CITA III on network resources, University Information Technologies, Delaware DTI and the public is required. Must possess knowledge of the Internet, and the ability to develop website documents, and willingness to use and develop new web applications related to Internet GIS; knowledge of current technological developments/trends in internet GIS systems and understanding of integrated GIS/GPS principles, systems, and technologies; knowledge and understanding of Internet Map Server technology and programming/implementing applications in a distributed access environment.
